Larry Rice's extensive experience and passion for the residential construction and home building industry make him an invaluable member of Canyon Building Company, Inc.

Larry's journey in construction began with his pre-engineering studies at Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State University, located in San Marcos. Born in Michigan and having lived in various places like New Jersey and Minnesota during his childhood, he eventually settled in Houston and graduated from high school there.

With over 40 years of experience in the field, Larry has a deep and diverse background. He spent many years working for an architectural firm in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as the project architect, primarily focusing on residential projects within a commercial firm. His career then led him to Dallas, where he worked for a major new home builder. Larry's dedication and expertise quickly earned him a management role, where he oversaw a division of 10 construction managers. In this capacity, he was responsible for ensuring the quality and profitability of homes under construction, all while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Larry's commitment to quality extended beyond new home construction. In Missouri, he also built quality custom homes and completed extensive room additions and remodels. Eventually, the allure of the Hill Country in Texas brought Larry back to the state, where he led the Hill Country Division for a major new home builder. Here, he continues to build high-end, custom-quality homes and foster strong relationships with homeowners, tradespeople, suppliers, and colleagues.

Lorenzo Pirritano


Lorenzo Pirritano's background and experience make him a valuable asset to Canyon Building Company, Inc. Raised in Houston, he pursued his passion for construction by earning a degree in Construction Science and Management with a minor in Business Management from Texas State University in San Marcos.

After completing his education, Lorenzo embarked on a successful career in Construction Management in the Texas Hill Country. Over the course of eight years, he demonstrated his expertise by managing the construction of numerous custom homes in the area. His most recent role involved serving as the Senior Manager of the Hill Country Division for a prominent custom home builder.

Lorenzo's experience extends to a wide range of custom homes, from those valued in the mid $600,000 range to properties exceeding $3 million. Regardless of the project's scale or complexity, he prioritizes pride and top-notch quality, which consistently results in satisfied customers upon the completion of their homes. His work has taken him across the Hill Country, covering a 100-mile radius from his home base in Canyon Lake.

In addition to his technical skills, Lorenzo possesses exceptional personal qualities. His enthusiasm, integrity, strong people skills, and keen attention to detail define his character. ELEVATIONS & FLOOR PLANS


We exchange ideas, images, and floor plans to create a detailed design program. Your feedback helps us understand your lifestyle and aesthetic, guiding us through site selection, budget, and timeline.

Architect Selection

We assist in selecting an architect, balancing form, function, construction knowledge, and sustainability. Canyon leverages relationships to deliver custom architecture within your budget. We review portfolios, facilitate meetings, and ensure a professional and personal match.

DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACT


To protect all parties, we enter a clear design-build contract, including your design program, location, budget, timeline, and architect details. A deposit secures your lot, retains the architect, and starts the design process.

Design Phase

With our team assembled, the architect leads the design while Canyon ensures your vision. Communication is key. You'll participate in design sessions, guiding decisions and shaping the project from start to finish.

CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, PERMITTING & FINANCE


Once your home is designed, we develop a detailed budget and final price with unmatched transparency. By pricing after the plans are complete, we avoid overcharging and ensure the project stays within budget. If costs are too high, we adjust plans before contracting. This unique Canyon process guarantees satisfaction. Once the plans and budget are perfect, we execute a contract and obtain permits and financing, then we're ready to build!

CONSTRUCTION PHASE

It's time to turn your dream into reality. You'll receive a detailed schedule and allowances for selecting finish materials. Our team guides you on what to select and when. We source high-quality materials at the best prices, with you in charge of final decisions. During construction, we keep you informed every step of the way, ensuring no surprises. Change orders and special selections are welcome, with a simple process to keep you updated on the budget.
